EPA-608 Training and Certification
EPA regulations (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F) under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act require that technicians who maintain, service, repair or dispose of equipment that could release ozone-depleting refrigerants into the atmosphere must be certified. EPA 608 Certification Classes are held regularly at the ABC Training Facility. The class requires self-study prior to the day of testing and involves a two-hour refresher followed by three hours to complete the test for certification.
Introduction to Leadership
Introduction to Leadership classes are held regularly at the ABC Training Facility. The course covers transitioning into leadership, decision-making, communication, delegation, leading difficult workers and being the leader your team wants to follow. This class will cover the following topics: transitioning to leadership, decision-making, communication, delegation and leading difficult workers.
Medical Gas Installers Certification
Medical Gas Installers Certification is for initial certification as well as re-certification. This is an ASSE – 6010 32-hours minimum course that meets New Mexico CID, UPC and NFPA99 standards. This course is open to commercial and industrial licensed journeyman plumbers only. This course includes certified brazing techniques and requirements, two third-party brazing samples for certification, brazing test and submittal of coupons/third-party inspection may be required as well as a written test upon completion.
Project Management
Project Management classes are held regularly at the ABC Training Facility. Session 1 covers an introduction to the industry, safety, interpersonal skills, issues and resolutions, construction documents and construction planning. Session 2 covers estimating and cost control, scheduling, resource control, quality control and assurance, and continuous improvement. This class will cover the following topics: transitioning to leadership, decision-making, communication, delegation and leading difficult workers.
Project Supervision
Project Supervision classes are held regularly at the ABC Training Facility. This class is designed for new and veteran journeymen that supervise other workers. This class covers orientation to the job, human relations and problem-solving, safety, quality control, contract and construction documents, document control and estimating, planning and scheduling, resource control and cost awareness. This 20-hour course will cover the following topics: orientation to the industry, human relations and problem-solving, safety and quality control.
Uniform Mechanical and Plumbing Code
UMC and UPC update classes are held regularly at the ABC Training Facility. These classes are eight hours and qualify for continuing education credits required for license renewal.
Photovoltaic and NABCEP Certification
NCCER Solar Voltaic Course covers the following modules: Introduction to Solar Photovoltaics, Site Assessment, System Design, System Installation/Inspection, Maintenance/Troubleshooting and NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification. The PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification is considered the gold standard for PV professionals in the renewable energy industry.
